"Deforestation" Paragraph for SSC AND HSC

                                  Deforestation

DeforestationDeforestation means cutting down trees and destroying forests on a large scale. Today, it has become a major global problem. There are several reasons behind deforestation. The rapidly growing population is the main cause of it. To meet the demands of this huge population, people are cutting down trees blindly. They need extra land for agriculture, housing, roads, and industries. People also cut trees for firewood and furniture. However, the effects of deforestation are highly dangerous for our environment. Trees give us oxygen and absorb harmful carbon dioxide. When forests are destroyed, the amount of carbon dioxide increases in the air. This leads to global warming and climate change. Deforestation also causes serious natural disasters like floods, droughts, and soil erosion. Furthermore, it destroys the natural homes of wild animals and birds, pushing them toward extinction. We cannot survive on earth without trees. Therefore, we must stop deforestation immediately to save our planet. The government should enforce strict laws against illegal tree cutting. Most importantly, we must plant more trees through mass tree plantation programmes and raise public awareness across the country.
